What: Ben’s Bells promote kindness and community involvement. Each week a person who makes Tucson better is β€œbelled.”

Why: Alexander and her therapy dog, Ella, volunteer with Gabriel’s Angels. Brown said Alexander is always available to help, even at the last minute, to provide time for at-risk and seriously ill children at hospitals. In their time volunteering, they have helped countless children, Brown wrote in his nomination letter.

β€œI wish her work ethic toward volunteering was contagious, because their love and zest to help others sure is,” Brown wrote.
