Diane Alexander, holding bell in one hand and her therapy dog, Ella, with the other, hangs with volunteers and staff from Gabrielβs Angels and Boys and Girls Club students.
What: Benβs Bells promote kindness and community involvement. Each week a person who makes Tucson better is βbelled.β
Last weekβs recipient: Diane Alexander.
Nominated by: Jeremy Brown.
Why: Alexander and her therapy dog, Ella, volunteer with Gabrielβs Angels. Brown said Alexander is always available to help, even at the last minute, to provide time for at-risk and seriously ill children at hospitals. In their time volunteering, they have helped countless children, Brown wrote in his nomination letter.
βI wish her work ethic toward volunteering was contagious, because their love and zest to help others sure is,β Brown wrote.
