A 37-year-old man was shot to death Thursday night after he pulled a "sharp-edged weapon" on a neighbor from his midtown apartment complex, Tucson police say.

Edgar Ramos, a resident of an apartment complex in the 2400 block of North Haskell Drive, was found dead about 9 p.m. by Tucson police officers responding to reports of a shooting, they said Friday in a news release.

Based off initial interviews, detectives believe Ramos confronted another resident of the complex, at some point producing a "sharp-edged weapon."

Police say he then continued towards another resident, a 29-year-old man whose name was not released, who had a gun and shot Ramos.

The resident who shot Ramos contacted the authorities, officials said.

The findings of the investigation will be presented to the Pima County Attorney's Office once completed, Tucson police say.
