STK emergency

A 49-year-old man was killed Thursday morning in a single-vehicle crash on the city's north side, Tucson police said in a news release.

Jared Stephen Krug was driving a Nissan Altima west on West Miracle Mile about 6:30 a.m. when he swerved left from the curb lane and crashed into the median then a palm tree, the release said.

He died at the hospital, police said.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call 88-CRIME.

The crash marked the 77th traffic fatality in Tucson so far this year, police said. There were 69 fatal crashes in the city for the same time in 2022.
