An inmate serving 10 years at the federal prison in Tucson for was found dead earlier this week, officials say.
Brandon Zimmerlee was convicted in Oklahoma of racketeering and kidnapping and had been in custody at the high security prison here since July 15, 2022, according to the Department of Justice.
About 9:45 a.m. on Jan. 28, Zimmerlee was found unresponsive in his cell. Prison staff began lifesaving measures, but he died before medics arrived, officials said.
No other details about the circumstances surrounding the death have been released.
