A 71-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash last month, authorities say.

About 9:30 p.m. May 24, Robert Netherton, 63, was found on the pavement in the 3600 block of South Palo Verde Road, near East Ajo Way, the department said in a news release.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department released surveillance footage of a pickup truck they said struck Netherton.

On Saturday night, a deputy stopped a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado that looked like the pickup truck in the crash video, the department said in a news release.

"The driver was interviewed and made admissions regarding the incident but denied being aware that a person had been struck," the release said.

Jesus Loyo-Torres was arrested and booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of leaving an accident resulting injury or death, a felony.

The case will be forwarded to the Pima County Attorney's Office, the release said.
