A Tucson man has been sentenced to eight years in prison after being convicted in a federal child pornography case, prosecutors say.
Sergio Herran, 47, was convicted in a March trial of distribution and possession of child porn, a news release from the US Attorney's Office in Arizona said.
US District Judge Raner C. Collins on Tuesday sentenced Herran to concurrent terms of 8 and 4 years.
Prosecutors say more than 10,000 images and 1,500 videos were found on electronic devices belonging to Herran. A representative sample, however, was charged in the indictment, the release said.
Herran was previously tried and convicted in a 2019 jury trial, but the conviction was reversed on appeal.
In the new trial, Herran was found guilty of distributing two child-porn videos, possession of 13 child-porn images and possession of eight child-porn videos, the release said.
