Nine people are facing child sex crime allegations after being arrested in an undercover sting that involved several law enforcement agencies across the Tucson area, police say.

Nine people were arrested as part of a multi-agency undercover operation over several days that focused on alleged child sexual predators, Tucson police said Monday.

The undercover operation, which ran from Jan. 31 through Feb. 3, involved online chats in which law enforcement officers posed as minors from seven to 16 years old. At the end of the four-day operation, nine people were arrested after they arrived to meet with the โ€œjuvenileโ€ in person, Tucson police said in a news release.

Those arrested face various felony charges, including luring of a minor for sexual exploitation and child sex trafficking, the release said.

Everyone arrested was booked into the Pima County jail.

Twelve law enforcement agencies collaborated in the operation, including six police departments, the Pima County Sheriff's Department, and state and federal agencies, including the Department of Public Safety and the FBI.
