A Tucson man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after Tucson police say he shot his girlfriend in the face during an argument.
The 28-year-old woman was shot May 31 while holding her 3-year-old daughter in her arms, Tucson police said in a news release. The woman was critically injured in the shooting near North Dodge Boulevard and East Fairmount Street and remains hospitalized, police said.
The child suffered minor injuries, police say.
Gabriel Cruz Valenzuela-Burruel, 20, was arrested June 6 and booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of charges that include attempted first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault, child abuse and for a probation violation warrant.
