George Reynoso

A 43-year-old-man has been arrested on suspicion of 19 felony charges following a six-vehicle crash that occurred last month in Oro Valley.

Six people were injured, including some seriously, in the July 7 crash, police said.

The crash occurred about 10:15 a.m. at North Oracle and West Hardy Roads, said Officer Darren Wright, and OVPD spokesman.

The investigation determined a vehicle crossed the center line, struck an oncoming vehicle head-on, and created a chain-reaction pile-up of six vehicles, according to Wright.

Several people, including the driver who police say caused the crash, were hospitalized, Wright said.

However that driver, George Reynoso, left the hospital against medical advice to avoid police, Wright said.

This week, Reynoso was taken into custody on 19 counts of aggravated driving under the influence, aggravated assault, endangerment and criminal damage, the department said in an online post.

Reynoso was booked in to the Pima County jail.

The investigation continues.
