An inmate at the Pima County jail died Saturday after being involved in a fight, authorities say.

Emmanuel Ramirez, 41, who was jailed Jan. 31 on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia and "multiple warrants," was in a fight with another inmate early Saturday, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.

Corrections officers found the injured Ramirez about 2:50 a.m. and he was sent to the hospital, where he died later.

The cause of death had not yet been determined the release said.

The department's homicide unit is investigating the case.
