A 57-year-old motorcyclist riding the wrong way near Vail Saturday night was struck and killed in a head-on crash, officials say.
Raymond Smith was traveling west in an eastbound lane of Old Spanish Trail Road about 7:45 p.m. when he collided with an eastbound car near Pistol Hill, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
Smith died at the hospital.
The driver of the car had minor injuries, and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The wreck remains under investigation.
