A man crossing a west-side street "mid-block" Tuesday evening was struck and killed by a vehicle, Tucson police say.
The collision occurred about 6 p.m. near North Silverbell Road and West Speedway, police said. The man's name was being withheld pending family notification, Tucson police said.
The driver of the eastbound 2012 Honda CRV that struck the man was not impaired and no citations had been issued Wednesday, police said. The crash is still being investigated.
This is the 20th pedestrian fatality this year, Tucson police say. There were 31 pedestrian fatalities at the same point last year, police said.
