A former foster parent already serving life terms in an Arizona prison for child-sex crimes has been sentenced to an additional 218 years behind bars in a separate case, officials say.

Pinal County Superior Court Judge Jason Holmberg sentenced Francisco M. Medina, 53, after a jury convicted him of six counts of sexual conduct with a minor, dangerous crimes against children and molestation of a child, the Pinal County Attorney's Office said in a news release.

Medina is already serving multiple life sentences related to more than a dozen counts of sexual conduct with a minor in Pima County, the release said.

"I hope this outcome gives the victim some small amount of closure and helps her in healing," Pinal County Attorney Kent Volkmer, said in the release. "I can't fathom what she's had to deal with, but I admire her strength and courage to hold her perpetrator accountable."

In 2020, the Tucson police spoke to the victim, who is now an adult, related to past reports of sexual abuse by Medina when they lived in Casa Grande in the late 1990s and she was under his care.

She told investigators, Medina entered her room at night on multiple occasions and sexually abused her, the release said.

Medina’s sentence will run consecutively to his life sentence in Pima County.
