A woman convicted in a DUI crash that killed her 2-year-old daughter has been sentenced to more than 20 years in prison, authorities say.

Andrea Raeann Crespin was sentenced Monday by Pima County Superior Court Judge Kellie Johnson to 12 years in prison for manslaughter and 10 years for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon or instrument. The sentence is consecutive, meaning they must be completed back-to-back.

Crespin was also sentenced to four months for aggravated driving under the influence, and driving the wrong way on the highway. Court officials said it will also be served consecutively. She received credit for 342 days already served behind bars.

Crespin initially faced a second-degree murder charge, but it was reduced to manslaughter as part of a plea agreement.

In August 2023, Crespin was driving a 2016 Mazda sedan the wrong way on the Interstate-10 when she collided head-on into a car. Crespinโ€™s daughter, who was in the front passenger seat and not wearing a seatbelt, was killed, authorities have said.
