A 19-year-old man was killed and several people were injured in a DUI-related, rear-end crash early Saturday on Tucson's south side, police say.

Just before 2:30 a.m., a gray 2007 Chevrolet Silverado speeding south on the Interstate-10 frontage road rear-ended a white 2024 Kia Niro that had just turned on to the frontage road from West Silverlake Road, Tucson police said in a news release.

The collision caused the pickup truck to spin and roll. One of six people in the pickup truck, Risten Lee Robinson, died later at the hospital, the release said.

The five others in the truck had various levels of injuries.

The unidentified Kia driver had minor injuries and her passenger was not injured, the release said.

Excessive speed and impaired driving by the driver of the Silverado are the primary contributing factors in the crash, the release said.

No criminal charges have been filed, but the investigation continues.
