Tucson police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 31-year-old woman on the city's south side.

About 11:30 p.m. officers found a mortally wounded Lillian Gamboa, 31, when they responded to a reported aggravated assault near the corner of West Irvington Road and South 12th Avenue, Tucson police said Friday in a news release. She died at the scene.

Several people were detained and questioned, but no arrest was made, the release said.

No details about the shooting have been released.

Detectives continue to investigate.
