A man was shot and wounded during a street takeover early Sunday on Tucson's southeast side, authorities say.

The incident happened about 2:45 a.m. in the area of South Kolb and East Irvington roads when gunfire erupted after several vehicles blocked the intersection while some drivers drivers were doing donuts, according to social media posts.

The hospitalized man had serious injuries, Sgt. David Fritsch, of the Tucson Police Department, said Sunday.

Fritsch said there had been no arrests in the incident early in the day Sunday. The investigation continues.
