An 18-year-old man was shot and killed Monday in an alley on Tucson's east side, police say.

About 3:30 p.m. Monday, officers answering a call about a shooting found Randy Simmons wounded in an alley in the 6000 block of East 35th Street, near East Golf Link and South Wilmot roads, police said Wednesday in a news release.

Officers performed life-saving measures, but Simmons died at the scene, the release said.

No information about a motive or information about the gunman was available Wedneday.
