A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault and other charges in connection with a shooting early Sunday that left one man seriously wounded, Tucson police say.

Richard A. Montoya was arrested Sunday night in connection with the 4 a.m. shooting near West Lee Street and North Tenth Avenue, Tucson police say.

Montoya, who was driving a stolen vehicle, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, prohibited possession of a gun, discharging a firearm within city limits, auto theft and third-degree burglary, police say.

He also had two outstanding felony warrants at the time of his arrest, police said.

He was booked into the Pima County jail and bond was set at $105,000.

A second person suffered minor injuries in the shooting.

No motive has been given though it does not appear Montoya and the man who was shot know each other, police said.

The investigation continues.
