Authorities are looking for the suspect in an early morning hit-and-run that killed a tow truck driver near Benson.

State troopers are looking for the driver involved in a hit-and-run near Benson that killed a tow-truck driver while he was assisting a motorist, authorities said.

Danny Haro, 58, was on the shoulder of westbound I-10 at milepost 295, loading up a disabled vehicle at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, when he was struck and killed by a white box truck, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.Β

Haro was on a call for Big Dave's Towing out of Benson when he was killed, DPS said.

The box truck continued driving westbound on I-10, in the direction of Tucson.

Detectives are looking for a white box truck with a broken red light on the passenger side, that could be either a front right turn signal or a red reflector from the passenger side.

Anyone with information is asked to call DPS Criminal Investigations at 746-4500.
