Marana police have released details in a Friday night murder-suicide that left three people dead, authorities said.

The victims have been identified as 46-year-old Ana Solis, 52-year-old Jeneatte Hernandez and 23-year-old Darius Solis, said Marana police department spokesman, Sgt. Chris Warren.

Police responded to a residence on North Iron Ridge Drive shortly before 11 p.m., after a 911 caller reported finding three adult family members dead inside the home, Warren said.

Detectives learned that Darius Solis shot and killed his mother, Ana, and Hernandez, his aunt, before turning the gun on himself, Warren said.

The investigation is ongoing, but this incident marks Marana's first homicide of 2016.
