A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a train on Tucson's southeast side Saturday morning, authorities said.

Rita Road is shut down in both directions at Old Vail Road, while the scene is being investigated, said Tucson Police Department spokesman, Sgt. Pete Dugan.

Few details are currently available, but Union Pacific also has employees on the scene.
