FAME, a Family Arts and Music Experience at the downtown Children’s Museum, starts at 10 a.m. Admission is free.

The public is invited to FAME, a Family Arts and Music Experience, on Sunday, Oct. 23, at the downtown Children’s Museum Tucson.

The sixth annual event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 200 S. Sixth Ave., organizers said.

More than 2,000 children with their families are expected to enjoy creative and performing arts, music, food and center stage live entertainment by young performing groups.

β€œThe arts so enrich our lives in every way,” said Neelam Sethi, the event’s co-founder. β€œWe want FAME to be a special day for Tucson’s children to come and experience a world of playful creativity and learn of other cultures.”

Activities will include dancing, drumming, sand painting, sketching and dress-up. Also performing will be β€œDr. Gully G”, a clown who will spend the day making balloon animals for children.

Among the groups providing creative activities include the Barbea Williams Performing Company, Ben’s Bells Project, Confucius Institute at the University of Arizona, and Las Artes.

Also contributing will be the Tucson Boys Chorus, the Tucson Chinese Cultural Center, the Tucson Music and Dance Academy and the Young Rembrandts of Tucson.

Beyond Bread and El Charro will provide a variety of food. NatureSweet will offer cherry tomato snacks.
