Seven Pima County schools are among 53 across Arizona to earn an A+ School of Excellence Award.
The award from the Arizona Educational Foundation is the highest state-level recognition given to a public school.
Pima County's A+ schools include:
• Andrada Polytechnic High School, Vail;
• Canyon del Oro High School, Amphi;
• The Innovation Academy, Amphi;
• Lawrence W. Cross Middle School, Amphi;
• Mica Mountain High School, Vail;
• Rattlesnake Ridge Elementary, Marana;
• Wrightson Ridge School, Sahuarita.
The A+ School of Excellence adjudication process is how public schools in the state are recommended to receive the U.S. Department of Education’s National Blue Ribbon Award.
