Oro Valleyโs town manager resigned last month, prompting the town council to start a nationwide search for her replacement.
Former town manager Mary Jacobs submitted her resignation on Sept. 23. Jacobs had served as town manager since September 2017.
On Wednesday, the Oro Valley Town Council directed staff to select a recruitment firm and begin a nation search for the next town manager.
Deputy Town Manager Chris Cornelison will serve as acting town manager until the recruitment process is completed and a new town manager is appointed.
โWe are grateful for the many years of leadership that Ms. Jacobs provided, and we wish her well in her future endeavors,โ said Mayor Joe Winfield in a news release. โMy fellow councilmembers and I have directed town staff to work with a recruiting firm to conduct a nationwide search for our next town manager. We are committed to casting a wide net to ensure we find a quality candidate to carry on the great work of the town in the years ahead.โ
Jacobsโ resignation came two days after the Oro Valley Town Council met in executive session to discuss her annual performance review. The council did not discuss her review in open session after the closed meeting.
