An ice cream shop that serves flash-frozen customized treats is opening in Tucson.
After customers pick a base, flavor and toppings, the cream is mixed with liquid nitrogen to create ice cream in about 45 seconds.
Chill-N Ice Cream leased 1,200 square feet at 4776 E. Sunrise Drive from Sunrise Village Investors LLC. Natalie Furrier and Dave Hammack, with Picor, handled the lease.
Chill-N Ice Cream is a liquid nitrogen ice cream franchise and is expected to open by the end of the year.
The ice cream is made to order, and the customers choose a base of cream, yogurt, coconut or oat milk, base flavor and mix-in toppings. Liquid nitrogen is added when mixed, and the base is frozen from liquid to solid in about 45 seconds.
The company’s founders began experimenting with ice cream in their garage in Pinecrest, Florida, in 2012.
The Tucson location will be opened by franchisee Gabriel Pineda, who moved here from Miami and missed the dessert, and partners Claudio Wingartz Otaduy and Andres Castaneda Bochmann.
