Tucson police have released the name of the man killed in an early morning shooting last week.

Roberto Varela, 36, died Sunday from gunshot wounds sustained around 1 a.m. Friday.Β 

Tucson police said Varela was found with gunshot wounds in a maroon 2007 Hyundai coupe near West 20th Street and South Farmington Road.

He was taken to a hospital, but succumbed to his injuries, the Tucson Police Department said in a news release Monday.Β 

Police have not identified any suspects in the shooting. Detectives ask anyone with information to call 88-CRIME. Callers can remain anonymous.Β Β
