Thunderstorms are possible in the Tucson region beginning Thursday, the weather service says.

A flash flood watch has been issued in the area from Thursday morning through Saturday evening for eastern Pima County, including Tucson, and the following counties: Santa Cruz, eastern Pinal, Graham, Greenlee, and Cochise, the weather service said Wednesday in its forecast.

A flash flood watch means flooding is possible. The more serious flash flood warning means flooding is about to happen, or is already happening.

Chances for heavy rainfall increase from Tucson eastward, beginning late Thursday morning through Saturday evening, the National Weather Service said.

The chance of rain here diminishes next week, but it is still possible mostly south and east of Tucson.
