A 43-year-old man was killed in a gunfight Tuesday night at a Tucson convenience store, Tucson police say.
Just after 8 p.m., police were called to a the store in the 5100 block of East Speedway, just east of North Rosemont Boulevard for a reported shooting, police said Wednesday in a news release.
Ryan Edward Brean was found wounded behind the business and died at the scene, the release said.
Soon after, police were told that a 34-year-old man arrived at a hospital with with a gunshot wound. Investigators soon linked the two incidents, the release said.
Brean and the wounded man were in an altercation at the store that escalated into a gunfight, investigators say. The unidentified man at the hospital was treated and released, police said in the news release.
No one else at the gas station was injured.
