The No. 1-ranked menβs soccer team in the nation went down Saturday night, thanks to Pima Collegeβs Nathan Flores.
Flores scored the game-winner with 21.9 seconds left to lift the No. 5 Aztecs over top-ranked Phoenix College 3-2.
Alejandro Mina assisted on the goal as Pima improved to 10-1 overall and 7-1 in the ACCAC. Itβs the 27th straight year the Aztecs have won at least 10 games.

Phoenix blanked visiting Pima 3-0 on Sept. 6, but the Aztecs have won eight straight since then.
The host Aztecs went up 2-0 Saturday thanks to a score from Nogales High grad Robert Castaneda on a penalty kick in the 26th minute, and then a Leonel Gutierrez (Salpointe Catholic) goal five minutes later.
Phoenix answered with goals in the 69th and 82nd minutes.
Pima goalkeeper Tommaso Leonardi had five saves in the win.
The Aztecs are home again Tuesday when they host Chandler-Gilbert CC at 8 p.m.
Womenβs soccer
The No. 8-ranked Pima womenβs soccer team notched its fourth tie in 10 games this year, rallying to draw with No. 6 Phoenix College at home on Saturday.
Phoenix jumped on top 1-0 in the second minute, but Pimaβs Ava Dagnino (Salpointe) scored off a goal from Ashley Martinez (Sunnyside) in the 10th minute to make it 1-1.

The Bears went ahead again in the 51st minute before the Aztecsβ Gabriela Mendoza (Tucson High) scored off another Martinez assist in the 70th.
Sophomore Brooke Valencia (Sabino) had 10 saves for Pima (5-1-4, 5-0-3 ACCAC).
Pima next hosts Chandler-Gilbert at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday. The Aztecs beat the Coyotes 3-0 in Chandler on Sept. 9.
Volleyball
The Aztecs dropped to 5-10 overall and 2-4 in the ACCAC with a 3-1 loss to visiting Glendale CC on Friday at home.
Game scores were 17-25, 25-16, 25-13, 25-18.
The Pima College volleyball team lost in four sets to Glendale CC on Oct. 3, 2025.
No. 12 Glendale improved to 11-3, 5-1.
Maggie McReynolds (Mountain View) had 12 digs and 10 kills, while Alexia Hutchens (Salpointe) had eight kills.
Pima hosts South Mountain CC at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
