After their decisive win over Alabama in Birmingham on Saturday, the Arizona Wildcats picked up nine more first-place votes in the Associated Press Top 25 poll on Monday.Â
The top-rated Wildcats this week received 42 of the 61 first-place votes among media across the country, while No. 2 Michigan received 15, down four from last week. Duke also lost four first-place votes to the Wildcats, dropping from seven to three.
One voter who did not vote last week put Arizona in the No. 1 spot this week.
Overall, Arizona (9-0) and Michigan (10-1) stayed on top of No. 3 Duke (10-0), No. 4 Iowa State (11-0) and No. 5 UConn (10-1). Â Alabama (7-3) dropped from No. 12 to No. 16 after losing to the Wildcats.
Among other Arizona opponents this season, Houston (10-1) dropped from No. 7 to No. 8, BYU (9-10) stayed in the No. 10 spot, Kansas (8-3) moved from 19 to No. 17, Texas Tech (7-3) dropped three spots to No. 19, Auburn (8-3) stayed at No. 21 and Florida (6-4) dropped five spots to No. 23.
Arizonaâs Anthony Dell'Orso (3) celebrates with Jaden Bradley (0) after a break away dunk against Auburn during a game at McKale Center, Dec. 6.
