The Arizona Wildcats will be without arguably their best discus thrower in 2019 after it was discovered Tuesday that Turner Washington transferred to Arizona State. Star columnist Greg Hansen first reported Washington's switch to the Sun Devils.ย

The sophomore Tucsonan and Canyon del Oro graduate is currently listed in the Arizona State student directory. Washington is coming off a breakout season where he was teamed up with Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Jordan Geist.ย

Washington took fourth at the Pac-12 Championships in discus throwing and first at the Desert Heat Classic where he recorded a mark of 56.50 meters, which was the best measurement in the Pac-12 and a personal record.

Washington was also among five Wildcats to qualify for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

Now? Theย 2017 Arizona Gatorade Player of the Year will take his talents to Tempe where he has three years of eligibility remaining.ย
