Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan was named to the Associated Press All-America Third Team on Monday.
McMillan is the first AP All-American from the UA since running back J.J. Taylor in 2018. McMillan is also an All-Pac-12 Second Team and AP All-Pac-12 Second Team selection and a finalist for Polynesian Player of the Year.Β
The sophomore is eighth among FBS wideouts with 1,242 yards, which is the fourth-most by a Wildcat in a single season trailing only Dennis Northcutt, Bobby Wade and Austin Hill. He had five games with at least 100 receiving yards this season.Β
McMillan totaled 477 yards after the catch, according to Pro Football Focus, and had an average depth of target (ADOT) of 12.9 yards.Β His PFF offensive grade (86) is the second-highest by a Wildcat this season behind running back Jonah Coleman.
McMillan ended the regular season as the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week following an 11-catch, 266-yard performance in the Territorial Cup game, which is the second-most receiving yards in a game by a Wildcat since Jeremy McDaniel, who had 283 yards against Cal in 1996.
He needs three more yards to pass Samajie Grant for ninth all-time in career receiving yards for an Arizona player. McMillan has 10 touchdowns this season and is two touchdowns shy of the single-season school record with the Wildcats' bowl matchup with Oklahoma in San Antonio the final game of their season.
