Forward Jorynn Ross became the fifth Arizona women’s basketball player to enter the transfer portal during the current cycle, announcing her decision on social media Friday.
Ross spent one season with the Wildcats after transferring from Pepperdine. She appeared in 18 games, averaging 1.1 points in 6.2 minutes.
Cal State LA forward Amaya Fuentes, left, and Arizona forward Jorynn Ross get in a footrace for a rebound during their exhibition game on Oct. 29, 2024, at McKale Center.
Earlier in the week, three UA starters — center Breya Cunningham and guards Skylar Jones and Jada Williams — entered the portal. They represent three-fourths of the 2023 signing class that was supposed to form the foundation of a championship contender under Adia Barnes.
Forward Katarina Knezevic also entered the portal following a promising freshman season.
Barnes is entering the last year of her current contract and faces yet another roster overhaul. UA athletic director Desireé Reed-Francois has yet to comment publicly on Barnes’ status as the 2025 offseason gets underway.
