Arizona wide receiver Montana Lemonious-Craig motors into the end zone untouched on a pass from wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan in the first quarter against Utah in a November 2023 matchup in Tucson.

As expected, the No. 21-ranked Arizona Wildcats are heavy favorites to win their season opener against the New Mexico Lobos on Saturday. 

Arizona is a 31-point favorite over the Lobos, according to Action Network. Bet MGM and FanDuel have the Wildcats as 31.5-point favorites, while is ESPN Bet has Arizona at -30. The over/under for the UA-New Mexico game is 57.5 points, per Action Network.

Arizona ended its 2023 season on a seven-game winning streak, which included a victory over former Big 12 team Oklahoma in the Alamo Bowl, and finished with a 10-3 record, becoming the fourth team in program history to win at least 10 games. Arizona finished No. 11 in the AP Top 25, the highest ranking to end a season since 1998.

With several starters back, including quarterback Noah Fifita, wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, right tackle Jonah Savaiinaea, linebacker Jacob Manu and cornerback Tacario Davis, among others, the Wildcats are expected to be among the top teams in the Big 12 under first-year head coach Brent Brennan.

The Wildcats got an early look at New Mexico (0-1) on Saturday, which frittered away a 17-point lead to FCS Montana State in Albuquerque. 

No. 21 Arizona kicks off the 2024 season against New Mexico at Arizona Stadium on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.
