Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan named preseason AP All-American

Arizona star wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan was named a first-team Associated Press All-American on Monday. 

McMillan became one of three Big 12 players selected to the AP All-American Team, joining Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon III and Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter. 

McMillan, who is the highest-rated player in Arizona football history in the modern recruiting era, is entering his third season as a mainstay in Arizona's offense. 

McMillan ended his sophomore campaign with the second-most receiving yards (1,402) in a season by a UA receiver. McMillan’s career-high happened in the 2023 Territorial Cup game, where he had 11 catches for 266 yards and one touchdown in a 36-point win over rival Arizona State. McMillan was a second-team All-Pac-12 selection and received third-team Associated Press All-American honors.

McMillan is 1,428 yards shy of passing UA great Bobby Wade, Arizona's current wide receivers coach, for the most career receiving yards in program history. 

This offseason, the 6-5, 210-pound McMillan was also named to the Biletnikoff Award and Maxwell Award watch lists and is a preseason All-Big 12 choice and Walter Camp All-American.  

No. 21 Arizona kicks off the 2024 season against New Mexico at Arizona Stadium on Aug. 31 at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.
