The Arizona Wildcats added an Independence Day commitment from three-star 2025 in-state wide receiver Gio Richardson, who selected Arizona over hometown Arizona State and Kansas State on Thursday. 

Richardson, a star at Chandler Basha High School, is the fourth in-state commit in Arizona's 2025 recruiting class, joining Chandler Hamilton cornerback Dajon Hinton, Phoenix Mountain Pointe defensive lineman Kaleb Jones and Gilbert Higley quarterback Luke Haugo.

Arizona picked up an in-state commitment from Chandler wide receiver Gio Richardson for 2025. 

The 5-11, 170-pound Richardson, who took an official visit to the UA in June, is Arizona's 18th commit for its 2025 recruiting class. 

In 15 games over two seasons at Chandler Basha, Richardson recorded 59 catches for 940 yards and 10 touchdowns. Richardson averaged 15.9 yards per reception in the last two seasons. He played in three games during Basha's run to the 2022 Open Division state championship. Richardson is rated by 247Sports.com as the 18th-best prospect in Arizona. 

Arizona kicks off the 2024 season against New Mexico at Arizona Stadium on Aug. 31 at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.
