I don't know how, but we're approaching another weekend...again! And it's all happening not a moment too soon, because after living through this weird short week of ups and downs we all need a little fun.

Free First Thursday at the Tucson Museum of Art

The Corbett House 

Explore the area around the Tucson Museum of Art at this historic block party. Take a 15-minute tour to hear about the architectural history of the Corbett House and La Casa Cordova.

Arizona Opera is also hosting an OperaCon Extravaganza! Listen to live performances around the museum campus and learn things about the art form.

Colonial Demonstrations at the Presidio San Agustín del Tucson

Get a look at Tucson history up close. 

The Presidio Museum is getting ready for Living History Day season, happening in October, with live colonial demonstrations of blacksmithing, soldier drills and cannon firing.

GLOW! a nighttime art experience

"Blue Galaxy" by Mike Lundquist.

Jump into a illuminating wonderland of lights and magic with the return of GLOW! at the Triangle L Ranch. Let the twinkle-light path guide you through five acres of glowing sculptures, multi-media installations, performances, music and more.

There are a few GLOW! events happening this year, but the Sept. 9 date offers the cheapest admission for adults and the proceeds benefit Oracle's San Pedro Actors Troupe.

Arizona vs. Houston

Tucson Pops Concert at Reid Park

The Tucson Pops Orchestra performs its Music Under the Stars concerts at the DeMeester Outdoor Performance Center at Reid Park.

Listen to the sounds of the Tucson Pops Orchestra under the stars at the DeMeester Performance Center. Seating is limited so be sure to bring folding chairs or a blanket. Food trucks will be there too!

Mercado Flea Market *New*

The new monthly Mercado Flea  market will include a mix of eclectic antiques, collectibles and vintage finds.

Chili Cook Off at Lazydays KOA

Fun Chili Cook-Off

Bill Harmon, general manager at BrushFire BBQ Co., tops his smoked brisket chili with a bit of cheese. The Arizona Daily Star’s Sportsmen’s Fund sponsors the chili event.

Tucson's Lazydays KOA is hosting their first chili cook off and we're all invited. Guests of the campground and locals from the area are competing to see whose chili reigns supreme.

There will be jumping castles, face painting and live entertainment. Get Pin-Up Pastries treats and a beer from Sentinel Peak Brewing Company.

Flowers & Bullets launches its first series of workshops at the Midtown farm site, 3538 E. Ellington Place. Fall Planting 101 will cover soil prep, basic fertilizers, watering and planting schedules. Get dirty with hands-on work starting the fall seedlings for the collective. *Free seeds will be available*

6th Annual Great Crush Festival
