Group hug at the Girls World Expo in Harrisburg Pennsylvania.

A day with the girls can change your life.

Especially when that day includes meeting successful and powerful women, attending workshops, science exhibits, live music and dance, a college and career fair, an art show, fashion show, shopping and hot-topic seminars.

Girls ages 11-18 can experience all of those things and more at the Girls World Expo, a free daylong event created by local teen girls FOR local teen girls on April 22.

The event also serves as a chance to recognize that special girl in your life by nominating her as a Girl of Merit.

Girls ages 11-18 who have proven to be exceptional members of the community through their actions, activities, leadership and positive influence on others can be nominated as a Girl of Merit. But, you have to do it by April 5.

Girls chosen for the award will be contacted by a Girls World Expo representative.

Girls World Expo was founded by a couple of moms who wanted inspiration for their own daughters. The event happens in cities around the country. This is the first time it is taking place in Tucson.

A positivity board is set up for girls to write affirmations for each other at Girls World Expo in Albany, NY.
