  • Tucson Coin and Autograph: The business has sent out donations totaling more than $55,000 to various organizations. The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, the Alzheimer’s Association, Tu Nidito, Casa de los Niños, The Fisher House, the American Cancer Society and the Humane Society of Southern Arizona are each receiving checks for $6,225. Another $1,000 was donated to Youth On Their Own, and $11,125 was donated to Americares for Hurricane Harvey relief.
  • Dollar General Literacy Foundation: The foundation awarded the Tucson Unified School District and Coronado K-8 School with grants in the amounts of $4,000 and $3,156.44, respectively to support youth literacy efforts. These are part of more than $4 million the organization awarded to more than 960 recipients earlier this month. Awarded annually at the academic school year’s inception, youth literacy grants help support teachers, schools and nonprofit organizations throughout the 44 states that Dollar General serves.
  • Sundt Foundation: The foundation has awarded $22,000 to 12 Tucson charities during its third-quarter disbursement. The Shyann Kindness Project was awarded a $1,500 grant. Receiving a $3,000 award was Outdoor Adventures for Wounded Veterans. South Tucson Lions Charities was given $2,500. Awards of $2,000 each went to the Benson Area Food Bank, the Community Food Bank, Robles Community Support, St. Luke’s Home, Timothy Tuition Program, and theTri-Community Food Bank. Aviva Children’s Services, The Felicia Ann Cutler Farm, and Tucson Clean and Beautiful’s Youth Achieving Resources Development Skills program were granted $1,000 each. The foundation awards grants quarterly to area charities that support disadvantaged children and adults. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of Sundt Construction, Inc. employees.
  • Keller Williams of Southern Arizona and Frost RV: The two companies teamed up to send a crew from Keller Williams to gut houses in Beaumont, Texas, before black mold sets in. Keller Williams CEO Chase Delperdang; Aaron Leal, a loan officer for Movement Mortgage; and Keller Williams Real Estate Agents Drew Smith and Anthony Sotelo left Tucson Monday, Sept. 11, in an RV donated by Frost RV with donations they’ve collected. They planned to help as many people as possible over the course of five days. Frost RV is owned by Bruce Frost.
