Tucson Mayor Regina Romero's 19-year-old son was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving late week, records show.

Emiliano Reyes was cited Friday on one count of failing to stop for a red light and driving under the influence, a class one misdemeanor, according to Tucson City Court records.

Reyes was charged with driving or being in "actual physical control" of a motor vehicle while under the influence "to the slightest degree" of alcohol, drugs, "a vapor releasing substance containing a toxic substance" or a combination of any substances.Β

Tucson police said it could not immediately provide basic information about the incident. There was not estimate on when the department would respond to a public records request.

Under state law, Reyes faces at least 10 days in jail, a fine and community service if he's convicted. City Court records currently show Reyes faces a $345 fine.

"We will be managing this private family matter together," Romero said Wednesday in a statement. "We appreciate everyone respecting our privacy."

Reyes' arraignment was scheduled for Dec. 24,Β but his case has now been transferred to Pima County Justice Court,Β court records show.
