A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder in connection with a fatal crash earlier this month on the city's south side, Tucson police say.

Joseluis Dantes Moreno was booked into the Pima County jail Saturday, Tucson police said Monday in a news release.

Oscar Pedro Salazar, 33, was killed in the Dec. 7 crash at South Sixth Avenue and East Michigan Drive, police say.

Salazar was driving a Hyundai Elantra onto Sixth Avenue from a stop sign about 3 p.m. when the vehicle was struck by a northbound Ford Mustang driven by Moreno, police have said.

The Mustang was traveling "well above the posted speed limit," police have said.

The crash investigation continues.
