β€’ The Jim Click Family Foundation, Jim and Sandy Peebles and the Chen/Chow family: They and several others will provide a dollar-for-dollar match up to $225,000, through Dec. 31, for the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona’s Holiday Match drive to help families in need. To donate to the drive, go online to www.communityfoodbank.org. Those who don’t have Internet access may call 882-3296 and donate to the challenge. β€œIf the match is met, we’ll be poised to distribute 1.8 million meals to our neighbors in need” this holiday season and beyond, the Food Bank said in a news release, adding that Arizona law allows tax credits on such contributions.

β€’ #GivingTuesday: Dec. 1 is #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. Many local charities have matching opportunities for donations. For instance, Tucson Electric Power has provided a $10,000 matching challenge, through Dec. 31, to raise money for the Sonoran Institute: www.sonoraninstitute.org

β€’ Cox Charities: Donated $3,500 to Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation for its youth suicide prevention program.

β€’ Tucson Downtown Sertoma Club: Provided holiday donations of $500 to the Dancing in the Streets Arizona performance of the Nutcracker; and $500 β€” plus all the food β€” for the Chronically Mentally Ill holiday luncheon, which feeds more than 300 people Dec. 4 in partnership with COPE.

β€’ Allstate: Agency owners Mike Brown, Maria Ventimiglia and Rhiannon Ward earned Little League Baseball in Tucson, where all three volunteer, a $3,000 grant from the Allstate Foundation for receiving the Agency Hands in the Community Award.
