- Operation Christmas Child:
- Tucson volunteers and residents contributed to the Southern Arizona collection of more than 14,800 shoebox gifts for the operation this year, a record over last yearβs area collection of 14,363 gifts. Tucsonans packed empty shoeboxes with toys, school supplies and hygiene items for this project of Samaritanβs Purse that sends gifts to children living in difficult situations around the world.
- PICOR Charitable Foundation:
- The volunteer grant committee distributed $43,000 to 30 local charities, benefitting disadvantaged and at-risk youths, after its 21st Annual Pancake Breakfast on Oct. 11 in Reid Park.
- Larry H. Miller Dealerships:
- Donated $19,500 to Tucson charities in its second annual β10 Days of Givingβ campaign early this month. Donations went to Reading Seed; Act 1 Academy of Performing Arts; Wings for Women; and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
- Philanthropic Education Organization:
- Tucson Chapter W of P.E.O. donated more than 200 new bras to Youth on Their Own and Emerge and Sister Jose in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
- Vietnam Veterans/Legacy Veterans Motorcycle Club:
- Donated nine cases of MREβs (Meals Ready to Eat) to the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System Homeless Veteran Outreach Program.
- Alliance Bank of Arizona:
- Made a $100,000 scholarship donation to College Success Arizona, which will benefit students in the Phoenix, Tucson and northern Arizona areas enrolling in a community college.
- Pima Community College Foundation:
- Received $90,000 from the IME Scholarship Program and Juntos Podemos for scholarships to support Mexican students studying or wishing to study at PCC.
- PCC Gamers Club:
- Donated shoes and socks for more than 100 students at Dietz K-8 School.
- PCC social service students:
- Invited 125 at risk-youths to a holiday celebration Dec. 5 at First Christian Church, 740 E. Speedway, and collected donations for them of clothing, gifts and a meal.
- Mr. Anβs:
- The restaurant will collect money, non-perishablefood and frozen turkey donations to benefit the Community Food Bank, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18 at 6091 N. Oracle Road.

- and his employees have βadoptedβ a family for the holidays, donating and performing long-needed repairs to their home.
- Gospel Rescue Mission:
- Needs at least 2,000 more sports items, games and toys for all ages of children to give to several thousand children at Wakefield School on Dec. 19. Drop gifts off at any Discount Tire location in Tucson or at either Gospel Rescue Mission location, 326 W. 28th St. or 707 W. Miracle Mile.
- Home Instead Senior Care:
- Its Be a Santa to a Senior program, in partnership with Love Thy Neighbor Ministries, provides gifts and companionship for lonely and isolated seniors.
