Chris Andrews of Catalina Laboratory Products works on Engineering Smiles’ mobile dental clinic earlier this month.

  • Catalina Laboratory Products LLC: The Tucson startup company donated thousands of dollars worth of cabinetry and interior furnishings for a mobile dental clinic designed by Arizona State University engineering students. The mobile clinic will be used by IMAHelps, a California-based nonprofit organization, for humanitarian outreach in the U.S. and for dental student training and humanitarian outreach in Nicaragua. Calling themselves Engineering Smiles, the ASU students spent years designing and fundraising for the mobile dental unit. The students raised enough money to build the trailer and have it shipped to Arizona, but lacked the resources to equip the 24-foot custom built trailer with interior furnishings, some dental equipment and other supplies needed to make it a fully-functioning clinic. Chris Andrews and Kim Bergman of Catalina Laboratory Products LLC agreed to donate their time and furnishings to ensure the on-time completion of the clinic, and fully stocked the clinic’s interior, providing cabinetry and countertops and modifying the electrical and plumbing inside the trailer.
  • Green Valley Pecan Company: The company has selected the Continental School District Educational Foundation as the beneficiary of this year’s Nut Run 5K Run/Walk.
