Classes start Sept. 6
on Tibetan Buddhism

The Awam Tibetan Buddhist Institute, 3400 E. Speedway, will begin a core curriculum of eight, six-week classes on the essentials of Tibetan Buddhism.

A six-week session begins 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 6 at the institute or online. Class content includes basic principles, ethics, wisdom and a history of Buddhism in India and Tibet, among other topics. Each six-week part costs $60.

Togal, an advanced teaching, will be offered Sundays at 1 p.m. starting Sept. 6. One eight-week session costs $80. Enrolling in advanced classes requires the completion of basic curriculum and has no online option, according to press materials.
