Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man they believe to have stolen $2,000 in cigarettes from a Circle K on Tucson's south side on September 15.

Police are looking for a suspect they say stole more than $2,000 worth of cigarettes in September from a convenience store on Tucson's south side.

At about 3:15 p.m. on Sept. 16, Pima County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a theft at the Circle K in the area of East Benson Highway and South Country Club Road, said department spokesman, Deputy Cody Gress.

Upon arrival, they were told that $2,000 in cigarettes were missing from the store, and they were believed to have been stolen the previous day. Detectives with the community problems unit reviewed surveillance video from Sept. 15, which showed a man walking into the back office shortly after 4 a.m., Gress said.

About two minutes later, the suspect is seen leaving the office with what looks like cigarette cartons tucked underneath his jacket. Before leaving the store, the man stopped and bought some food and something to drink, Gress said.

He's described as being in his 40s or 50s, standing 5'5" to 5'8" tall and weighting between 170 and 200 pounds. He has short grey hair, and was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, blue shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911, or submit an anonymous tip to 88-CRIME.
