A woman shot and killed Friday during an altercation with a state trooper on Interstate 10 in Tucson has been identified.

Robin Rae Budelli, 41, of Tucson, was walking along the shoulder of I-10 near the Park Avenue exit about noon when a state trooper who had stopped to talk to her,  according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. She was shot during an altercation with the trooper, the agency said.

The unidentified trooper provided first aid to Budelli immediately after the shooting. She died later at the hospital.

The trooper was not injured.
