Rebecca Breeding was crossing East Speedway at North Main Avenue about 1 a.m. in a marked crosswalk but against the light, when she was struck by a westbound vehicle. She died at the hospital later in the day, Tucson police said in a news release.

The driver fled before police arrived at the crash scene.

Police continue to search for the driver.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME, the anonymous tip line.
